Adult Dog Food
Every dog is unique, and no one brand will work for every dog.
This is an important time in your dog’s life to use portion control with timed or free-choice feeding. Timed feeding is making a portion of dog food available for a specific amount of time; for example, placing food in a bowl in front of your dog for 15-20 minutes. Whatever is left in the bowl after that time is taken up. This is a common method for puppies to make sure they do not overeat. Free-choice feeding allows dog food to be available at all times. Your dog is allowed to eat as much as he wants, whenever he wants. This method tends to cause overeating and obesity. Meal feeding is our recommended method of feeding. It involves feeding a specific amount of food 2-3 times daily. Choosing a balanced, nutritious dog food and implementing responsible feeding protocols decreases adverse health effects caused by poor nutrition or over-consumption.
